Štúrovo is the southernmost city in Slovakia. The city is beautifully located near the Danube, from the Mária Valéria’s Bridge, there is a beautiful view of the historical buildings of Esztergom, the Burda mountain range, and the Pilis hills.
There is no marked trail leading to Burdov Hill (388 m above sea level). A hiking trip to its peak is a small adventure. From the village of Kamenica nad Hronom, a red tourist trail leads to the edge of the national nature reserve of Kováčovské Hills – south.
After a walk through the meadows with a beautiful view of the Danube, especially its confluence with the Hron, the trail enters the forest and continues along the ridge together with the educational trail of Kováčovské Hills – south.
The starting point of the educational trail is the village of Kamenica nad Hronom or Kováčovo. After turning to the blue trail, the path descends and turns to the right. The blue trail leads through the Veľká dolina to the village of Chľaba, where you can see the 300-year-old wine cellars.
