Welcome to Štúrovo, a city with ca. 11,000 inhabitants, located on the left bank of the Danube on the Slovakian-Hungarian border.
Štúrovo is the southernmost city in Slovakia, which attracts visitors with its interesting nature. Here, the Danube begins to turn and opens a breathtaking view of the classicist basilica in Esztergom. Near the city, the Hron flows into the Danube and offers excellent conditions for lovers of adventurous trips. The city is surrounded by Kováčovské Hills (Burda mountain range) with a maximum height of 395 m above sea level (Plešivec Hill).
Štúrovo is primarily a spa city. The VADAŠ thermal resort is justifiably famous even beyond the borders. With its capacity of over 12,000 visitors, reconstructed pools of various sizes, an indoor swimming pool, reconstructed rows of buffets and toilets, and the possibility of sport, it offers ideal conditions for relaxation for lovers of both water and sun. Details about the thermal resort can be found here.
The traditional Simon and Jude Fair in Štúrovo has always attracted large crowds with its variety, magnificence, and atmosphere. It takes place every year at the beginning of October.
